The annual fashion show fundraiser put on by the Charles Sumner Harrison Organization (CSHO) will be held Nov. 20 in the DBRC. The show is titled: "Fashion ID: Never Leave Home without It."

This year, proceeds from the fashion show will benefit the Marietta Boys and Girls Club.

Many members of CSHO have volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club and felt the children needed more than what is offered at the facility.

Amanda Dever, Marietta College's AmeriCorps VISTA representative, recognized the importance of the organization. "The [boys and girls club] keeps students out of trouble," she said.

Dever is excited there is an interest in aiding the Boys and Girls Club. "They need as many volunteers and tutors as they can get. Any additional money is needed there," she said.

Director of Multicultural Affairs and CSHO adviser Anthony Jones hopes for a large turnout at the fashion show so money can be raised for the Boys and Girls Club.

While the community service aspect is the major reason the show is put on each year, students also enjoy working on the show and performing in it.

Junior Kadesha Cooper said, "I am very excited about the clothes this year." Clothing for the show is provided by different local stores and from the mall in Vienna, W.Va.

The fashion show offers several areas of participation. Students can work as models, directors, stylists and make-up artists.

Some unique scenes in this year's show are "Martian Movement," "Party Monsters" and "You're a Jerk," but traditional scenes, such as formal dress and international wear, will be in the show as well.

Tickets are $2 for MC students and $5 for faculty and community members. Tickets are being sold by models, members of CSHO and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

There will be several raffles at the fashion show including, but not limited to, a $100 gift card, jewelry and CSHO apparel.

I think that it is good that while the community service aspect is the major reason the show is put on each year, students also enjoy working on the show and performing in it. (Continued…)
