Ah, spring break. For some, it is a time of luxurious relaxation: poolside cabanas, warm weather and exotic adventures in faraway places. For others, though, it's simply time to go home, sleep and take in one week off the hill. As nice as it is to go home for a while, things can certainly get boring when all you're doing is spending time with your remote and a bag of chips.

Joanna Newsom is not to be taken seriously. In fact, it is important to understand that the artists on Drag City--the Chicago-based indie label that is home to Newsom and a number of other semi-geniuses--is not to be taken seriously. Of course, in no way does this mean that Newsom's releases--or her label mate's releases--are not brilliant, beautiful, and fully realized perfect pieces of music.

On the second floor of Slayter, representatives from Outlook, Denison's gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning and allied (GLBTQA) advocacy group, is collecting signatures for a petition to abolish the ban on students of different genders to share a room, a practice more widely known as gender-neutral housing.

Sportscenter's opening jingle sounded a lot different to me the other morning for some reason. It couldn't have been anchor Stuart Scott's "boo-yah." It wasn't the newest Twitter update about Tiger's trip back home. Watching the normal dazzling dunks, a super serving of slap-shots, and the highlights of the "Top Ten Plays" wasn't it either.
